Rocky Raab watched the Apollo 11 launch and landing from Bachelor Officers' Quarters at Laredo Air Force Base in Texas, where he was in training to become a pilot. The experience made him immensely proud to be an American, an Air Force officer, and soon-to-be pilot — and inspired him to pursue a career as a NASA launch commentator.
