Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(bright music) - What's very exciting for Clarence this season is that he gets to leave the office.
'cause I never had any scenes outside the office last year, and this year, that means I get a coat, and I get to wear my coat outside.
- Well?
- We need to leave immediately.
- And we've already shot outside, I've been on location.
It's amazing.
And I get a hat that fits me.
Clarence has had a huge upgrade.
- I must confess, I'm enjoying it rather more than I thought I would.
- It's very exciting, he gets to actually go and do some investigating.
He's having the time of his life, although he does find it all very, very frightening.
- We need to get out of here, it'll be dark soon.
- And that would be bad?
- We do not wanna be here at night.
- You'll notice that wherever they are, Miss Scarlet is leading the way.
Clarence isn't exactly the person at the front.
I think, you know, her bravery, he sees that foolhardiness.
- Eliza, it is not that I don't admire your tenacity, but there is an equal chance that conducting our own investigation will antagonize Inspector Blake.
- But a gamble worth taking, is it not?
- Well- - Good.
Then we are agreed.
- Clarence is a natural follower.
He wants a strong leader.
Mr. Nash was that leader, and now I think he's just transferred all his affections to Miss Scarlet, I think he's devoted to her.
- Clarence, I'm perfectly well.
- Yes, yes, yes, you will say that you are fine, but we both know that that is not true, and so I've given this a great deal of thought, and it is my belief that at this moment in time, company may be of some degree of comfort to you.
- He'd follow her into battle, but he's definitely 10 paces behind her.
